1) Be knowledgeable. Before you shop for a GPS, do some homework and get yourself familiar with the features and benefits for each model. For this, you can refer to our Black's website or www.garmin.com directly.
2) Have the Associate walk you through the different features and benefits of the models they carry in-store to see which model would best suit your needs.
3) Once in the store, have the Associate provide you with a full hands-on demonstration of the GPS unit. With this hands-on demo you will be able to experience:
- address look up with driving directions
- hear the advantages of "text to speech"
- map viewing capabilities
- points of interest in current and specified locations
- points of interest info look up
- picture viewer
- currency converter
4) Have the Associate fully explain and walk you through how to use the features mentioned above so that you are comfortable with your purchase. This should include some simple steps on using the GPS for the first time and acquiring a signal, charging and storage.
5) Ensure you purchase any accessories that you may need. This might include an AC charger for charging at home, a USB cable for access to updates or a pouch and screen protector to keep your GPS unit safe from the elements.
